Sticky Cloth or Cling Cloth, Scotch Sticky Spray $16.29 from Amazon, From Amazon Nylon Material 36X 60 inches $5.99 link 60X180 $26. The second one may be a little better quality with better edge. I most recently went to Walmart and purchased a plain colored table cloth. My first one was too thin, the second one a little thicker works great. Powerpoint with examples

Activity packets from NCTM, elementary, middle level and high school. Packed with great ideas.

Dynamic Paper This site from NCTM Illuminations allows the creation of graph paper, number lines, nets, geometric shapes, spinners, number grids and much more. I had problems with the applet using Firefox but it worked well using Google Chrome.

Reasoning and Sense Making, new additions to NCTM library of books plus 5 new free activities on reasoning and sense making in different high school content areas. These can be found at http://nctm.org/standards/content.aspx?id=23749

http://www.conceptispuzzles.com/ This site offers a wide variety of logic puzzles. Some traditional games with some new ones. I especially liked the battleship game.

http://purposegames.com/ This site allows to create a game as well as use created games to practice concepts.

http://classtools.net/ This website has lots of resources. Random number picker, flash card generator, create a video game with 10 questions and answers and much more.

This study highlighted in Scientific America looks at the link between female teachers who are concerned about their math skills could be passing that along to the girls they teach. My observation is that ANY teacher who is not comfortable with math teaches memorization and procedures rather than understanding and that ALL of their students would suffer. http://www.scientificamerican.com/blog/post.cfm?id=little-girls-are-made-of-sugar-and-2010-01-25

http://www.nctm.org/about/content.aspx?id=25054 A Missed Opportunity, Early Childhood Mathematics. "From the beginning, we should help children go beyond the vocabulary and rote elements to focus on mathematical relationships." "The NRC study reports that many early childhood programs do not extend children’s mathematical knowledge. Instead, they have these young students repeat the same tasks in varied settings without posing challenges that would push them to the next level."
